Royale Hayat Hospital Gives Birth to its First IVF Baby!

Royale Hayat achieves one of its milestones as its first IVF babies were born last 5 June 2008.
Dr Hafsa Al Buarki, IVF and Fertility Specialist in ROYALE HAYAT HOSPITAL was the attending physician of the first IVF babies—twins Aya & Fatma.

IVF technology has caused a recent revolution in providing solutions to fertility problems, particularly since parents are driven to seek such resources after trying all other possible solutions, Dr. Hafsa Buarki stated on the occasion of the birth of the first IVF baby at the hospital.

On this occasion, Dr. Hafsa said that the term "test-tube baby" is a common mistake in terminology, since this process is the result of in-vitro fertilization, which is different from artificial insemination, where biology plays a role in the fertilization process by preparing the fetus under a microscope without use of test-tubes.

The specialist offered a technical explanation of how this procedure has a high success rate, depending on the age and health of the parents, as well as other factors, such as whether or not the parents are related to one another.

In conclusion, Dr. Hafsa stressed the importance of the couple supporting each other during this process, particularly the need for the husband to support his wife, in order to alleviate stress that the mother will be faced with during the various stages of lab tests, treatment and waiting for results.
Babies Aya & Fatma are currently admitted at the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit to monitor their health prior to their discharge.
