WELL-WOMAN PACKAGE

The Well-Woman Package is a comprehensive package designed to assure a healthy life of all females, in all age groups. The Well-Woman Package is a combination of medical and clinical tests tailored to suit women of different ages presenting with different medical history.

Breast Mammography/Bilateral Breast Ultrasound Scan

An X-ray image of the breast assists in detecting tumors and to help differentiate benign (non- cancerous) and malignant (cancerous) lesions.

Mammography is offered to women between the ages of 40-49, every two years, for women above 50 years, every 12 months, and for women less than 40 years where there relevant family history or indication on clinical examination.

Pelvis Ultrasound Scan

A scan of the pelvis to check the uterus and ovaries that will help detect and differentiate ovarian masses, benign (non-cancerous) and malignant (cancerous tumors)

Bone Density DXA Scan

You may not notice symptoms of osteoporosis until you break a bone. Bone Density Scan determines if you have osteoporosis or are at risk of developing it. We recommend that women over 50 years should undergo bone Density DXA Scan to show the current bone density.

Pap smear

It is a smear of cells taken from the cervix to detect abnormal cervical cells. Cervical cancer is a cancer of the neck of the womb. This type of cancer is one of the major three cancers which cause high mortality in women. Early detection relies on regular pap smears and subsequent treatment as necessary.

What is Cervical Cancer and why is it important?
Cervical cancer is a disease in which some cells in the cervix show abnormal, uncontrolled growth. It is important to know about cervical cancer because it is one of the few cancers that is nearly 100% preventable and curable when found early. Virtually all women are at risk of cervical cancer.

It is not yet defined what causes cervical cancer, but the risk increases with age and it is known to be linked to some types of the human papilloma virus.

All women should begin cervical cancer screening every 3 years after they begin having vaginal intercourse, but no later than when they are 21 years old.

CBC (Complete Blood Count)

A blood screening test to diagnose and manage various diseases and can reflect dehydration, blood loss or anemia or blood abnormalities, infections, allergies and others.

Lipid Profile

A blood screening test to check the body fat, represented in cholesterol and triglycerides which are indicators for heart disease.

Urinalysis

A urine screening test to check overall kidney functions, urinary tract infections, diabetes or any other kidney diseases

Liver Function Test

A blood screening test to measure the function of the liver, liver enzymes, bilirubin and others
